EPLIOGUE
Amal .A. Usman

I look at my reflection in the mirror, and I can't help the bright smile on my face as I see myself. I can't believe today is finally here. It feels like it was yesterday Jason asked me to marry him. I can't believe it's been three months since then. I gently rub my growing bump. I didn't want to wait till the baby was born to get married to Jason. I didn't see why I needed to. I love him, and there should not be any reason why we should wait before we get married. I even like the fact that my baby is going to be a part of our wedding. You can't really see my bump because of my gown and the fact that I am just 15 weeks pregnant. I am so happy to be marrying Jason today.

I pat my hands down my beautiful white gown. My dress is an off-shoulder ball gown exhibiting thin silk threads thoroughly embroidered onto a point d'esprit tulle that provides finishing. I lift my hand and touch the necklace Jason got for me for our wedding today. My jewelry set is a teardrop blue sapphire diamond. Jason said he got it for me because they remind him of my eyes. The color of my eyes is ocean blue.

I take three deep breaths as I hear a knock at the door. If my guess is right, it's Uncle Jack at the door, and it's time for me to walk down the aisle. We are having the wedding close to the ocean. The place is breathtaking.

"Come in," I say,

"Eleanor," Uncle Jack says, stepping into my room

"Uncle Jack," I say, turning around to face him. I hope he can't see how nervous I am about getting married to Jason.

"You look, beautiful honey," He says, walking up to me.

"Thank you," I say, closing my eyes as he leaves a small peck on my forehead.

"Don't worry, honey, everything is going to be fine," He says, locking my arms with him.

"Is it that obvious that I am nervous?" I ask, biting my lips

"Not really, but I know you well enough to know when you are nervous."

"Oh, can I ask you something before we step out," I say, as Uncle Jack is about to turn the doorknob

"What would you like to ask, dear?"

"How did you know?" I don't want the second-guessing thoughts to fill my head, but it's hard

"How did I know what?"

"How did you know that you were not making a mistake when you chose to marry Adeline? I am talking about before you found out the witch she is. I am asking how you were able to go on with the wedding."

"I loved her, and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I knew we were going to have issues because every couple does, but I believed our love was enough to make us overcome them."

"I really love Jason. I can't even picture my life without him in it anymore, but I can't help myself and be a little worried if I am making the right decision."

"Don't let those doubtful thoughts ruin something amazing you are about to build with Jason. All you should think about is that you love him, and he loves you too."

"Yeah, you are right. That's all that matters."

"Good, now let's go. I am sure everyone would be wondering where we are," Uncle Jack says, turning the doorknob.

We step outside the room and walk to where we are having the wedding. As we stand at the end of the aisle, I see everyone with a smile on their face. The wedding planner gives Uncle Jack the cue, and we start walking down the aisle. Our feet sweep away the white lilies laid on the floor as we walk down the aisle. I look at the end of the aisle, and all my worries fade away. My eyes lock with Jason, and the way he is staring at me is enough to tell me this man is head over heels for me, and that's all that matters.

Uncle Jack kisses my forehead before putting my palm in Jason's waiting hand. I hand my bouquet of white roses to Amber, who has tears in her eyes. She shakes her head to push them back in. She mouths, 'I am so happy for you,' I mouth back, 'thank you, before turning back to face Jason.

"You look beautiful, my love," Jason whispers in my ears as we walk up a few stairs to meet the minister who is going to officiate our wedding.

"Thank you, you look good too," I whisper back.

Jason is wearing a black and white tux that hugs his body perfectly.

Jason and I stand opposite each other as the minister starts the wedding. The wholetime the minister is talking, I can't help the permanent smile on my face as I stare back into Jason's eyes. I only take my eyes off him to collect the wedding ring from Amber.

"Do you, Jason Samuel Crawford take Eleanor Sarah Brown as your lawfullywedded wife, to love and to cherish, for better, for worse, for richer, forpoorer, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?" The minister says

"Yes, I do,"Jason says, without thinking twice.

"Please place the ring on her finger," The minister says.

Jason slides my wedding band into my ring finger. Istare at it as it fits perfectly into my hand. I shakemy head as I feel tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

"Do you Eleanor Sarah Brown take Jason Samuel Crawford as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do you part"

"Yes, I do," I say, without thinking twice also. I didn't even let the doubtful thought have a chance at making me change my mind.

"Please place the ringon his finger."

I slide Jason's wedding band into his finger.

"Now by the power invested in me bythe state of California. I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Jason places his palm on my face and seals my lips in a passionate kiss. I smile as tears of joy stream down my face.

"I love you," Jason says once hebreaks from our kiss

"I loveyou too," I say, smiling

A few minutes have gone by since the wedding. We are currently at the reception. Jason watches Eleanor as she laughs atsomething Alex says as he makes his best man speech. Jason places his hand on Eleanor's growing belly. He could not believeshe was 15 weeks pregnant with his baby. The woman he loved was pregnant with his baby and became his wife a few minutes ago.

"How are my girls doing?" Jason asks as his wife stuffed her mouth with food. She ate a lot these days that Jason feared she would explode, but he will never tell her that. He knows how women can be sensitive about their bodies when they are pregnant.

"We are both doing fine, and it might be a boy," Eleanor says, wiping her mouth after swallowing a big piece of chicken.

"I know, but I can feel she is a girl, and she is going to be as beautiful as her mother."

"Or ashandsome as his dad."

"Did I tell you how beautiful you look today?" Jason says, tucking a strand of Eleanor's hair that escaped her bun behind her ear.

"Yes, you did," Eleanor replied, blushing.

"Still, I feel I should repeat it because you are so beautiful, Eleanor. The most beautiful woman on this planet to me."

"And you arethe most handsome man to me too."

"I am so lucky to call you my wife from today onwards. I promise to make you never regret marrying me. I promise to shower you with all the love I can offer. Cherish you and make you happy like no one can. I vow to make you the happiest woman every waking day. I love you."

"I vow to do the same and so much more. I love you too."

"Come on, it's time for us to dance," Jason says, standing up with his hand stretched out for Eleanor.

"Let's go," Eleanor says, putting her hand in Jason

They walk to the dance floor, and once they take their position, the song they chose for theirfirst dance starts playing. Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

"You are perfect tome," Jason says, whispering into Eleanor's ears.

Eleanor buries herhead in Jason's chest to hide her tears of joy.

They danced for a few minutes before the dancing floor started filling up with more couples.

Eleanor smiled at Amber as she danced around with Evan. Eleanor was happy for her friend. She is with the man she loves, and they plan to build a future together one day. Evan already asked Amber to marry him, and she said yes. Eleanor couldn't wait for their wedding next year.

Amber plans to quit her job at the bar once they get married because Evan wishes they would have kids immediately, and so does Amber. Amber wants to finish working at the bar this year before she quits and builds an art career for herself. Eleanor was so happy when Amber told her she wanted to go back to school and pursue an art degree. She can't wait for the world to see the wonderful art her friend will create.

Jason made Eleanor quit her job. Jason said he could not have his wife answering calls for him and taking orders. She loved her job, but she was happy to finally make her dream come true. Eleanor plans to sketch as many outfits before the baby gets here and once the baby is a year old or two. She plans to start her own clothing line. She knows it won't be easy to succeed, but she is willing to try. She also knew with Jason beside her, she had nothing to fear because he would support her all the way.

Eleanor looked towards her right side and saw her Uncle and Vivienne laughing about something only they knew about. Eleanor could not have asked for a better woman to be by her Uncle's side right now. Vivienne made him happier than any woman did in his life, and she was grateful to Vivienne forever. Vivienne also got the happiness she always desired and is with the man of her dreams. They both deserve each other. Eleanor does not know if they will be tying the not soon, but she had her fingers crossed for it happening by the ending of the year.

Jason, on the other hand, stared at his wife as she looked around the room. He could stare at her all day. She was just so beautiful it left him mesmerized all the time. He still couldn't believe she was his wife, and they were about to have their first kid. He heard laughter across the room and finally removed his eyes from Eleanor to see who was laughing. His grandfather was the one laughing.

Jason's heart ached that his grandmother could not be here to witness such a beautiful moment in his life. He cut ties with her after he asked Eleanor to marry him. His grandmother refused to accept Eleanor, and as much as he loved her, he loved Eleanor far greater to lose her to his grandmother. He prays maybe in the future, she will come to realize she is wrong and accept Eleanor. Jason prayed dearly that day would come.

Jason looked at his grandfather's side to see who he was talking to. He was having a conversation with Alex Jason's best friend. Jason was a little worried for his best friend. He was almost 40 and still single. Jason felt like the luckiest man right now tohave found Eleanor and wished his best friend could find someone too. He is sure it's only a matter of time before that happens too.

"Eleanor," Jason says, trying to get Eleanor's attentionaway from the people around her.

"Yes, my love," Eleanor says,

"Do you ever imagine what would have happened if my grandfather didn't make you my secretary by all means? Do you think if you met meunder different circumstances, you would have fallen in love with me?"

"I think I would have"

"Why"

"Because I know you, Jason, I know all of you, the good, the bad, and I love all of you. So no matter what way we would have met, I believe I would have fallen in love with you regardless," Eleanor says, staring into Jason's eyes. She wishes he could see the love she had for him in her eyes because Eleanor truly loved him.

"I believe thesame too. I love you, Eleanor brown."

"I love you too, Jason Crawford," Eleanor says, then seals her lips with Jason.
