Chasing The Fierce Heiress
Hearing what he had to say, Sarah thought she was going mad. "Did your mother tell you this?" Sarah hissed. It could only be Christina; she had been trying to destroy their relationship from the very beginning.
Charles smiled ironically. "Of course not. Do you think I would trust anything my mom says?"
Sarah understood immediately. "Emma told you! I never expected her to be that kind of person!"
"So you're admitting it? Are you angry now because Emma told me that you are two-faced behind my back?"
Sarah was agitated and heartbroken. She couldn't help raising her voice. "Charles, who on earth do you believe? Who is your wife?"
"Yes, you're my wife. The one I should trust. But you forget that Emma is my sister. I have been with her for at least twenty years, but only two or three years with you. Who do you think I know better? What's more, it was Emma who called you when I had my car accident. That shows her kindness, despite the fact that she knows she lost my love to you. But you? So far, I haven't seen anything selfless from you. So who the hell should I believe?"
"Charles!" Sarah suddenly stood up. She couldn't bear him anymore! She was being hit with a double blow today. First, she had felt sick seeing his photos with Emma in the coffee shop, yet she had planned to give him a chance to explain. But now, he was questioning her first, blaming her, which crushed her all over again.
Unwilling to take the blame for something she hadn't done, she pulled out the photos directly and demanded, "What did you do? Why not examine your own deeds before blaming me? You have no right to say anything!"
She slammed the envelope down on the table, causing a loud noise. The shockwave made Charles close his eyes for a second. He opened the envelope, surprised when seeing these pictures of him and Emma. Silently, he went through the photos, looking at them one by one.
"Where did you get these?" he asked. He hadn't known where she got them from, but the timing was clear. Someone had given Sarah the envelope at the coffee shop. He couldn't help sneering. "I knew it. Daniel gave them to you."
"The proof is right here. And I would have found out about it soon enough anyway. Emma had to travel in advance. She needed comforting, so I placated her. Are you angry about a hug and a kiss? It was like a brother's gesture. You need to understand that."
"Why are you so angry? Don't you trust me? I've known Emma from when I was fifteen. It has been about ten years since we've known each other. But I have only known you for the last two years. A wife should choose to believe her husband first, but instead, you trusted another man over me. Am I not as important in your heart? You refuse to listen to my explanation. Now, I know what you really think. Emma is more important to you than I am, otherwise you would believe me…"
Charles yelled. Sarah turned away, closing the door forcefully behind her.
Charles stood there, seething as he looked at the pictures. He picked them up.
