The soft sound of fussing roused Eva from her peaceful slumber, the tired she-wolf opening her hazel eyes to take in the setting of the master bedroom. Outside, an Indian Summer was in full swing with golden vanilla light pouring in playfully from the french doors across the room from the large bed Eva was currently sprawled in, her body aching dully on the soft white sheets.
The fussing sound started again and Eva lifted her body carefully from the bed, auburn locks spilling over her shoulders and milk-heavy breasts. In her mind Kalla rose from the darkness to see through Eva's eyes as she approached the cot, peering at the tiny bundle wrapped up in a soft blue onesie and blanket.
"Hello you," Eva cooed to the newborn as he kicked his covered legs, tiny button nose wrinkling. "Oh my little warrior, are you hungry? Hush now, mummy's here."
She lifted the infant gently, cradling him as she cooed and moved to the armchair by the window to enjoy the later summer breeze while she let her son suckle on a nipple.
The old Silver Moon township had worked with a coven of witches to develop a university for both kinds as well as a popular retirement destination for the older wolves. Both Eva and Daniel's parents were now living there happily, enjoying the quiet life free of responsibility.
"Daddy she's awake!" The little girl called behind herbefore bustling into the room and bounced over to hermother to peer at her little brother. "He's so small."
"That's because he's brand new." Eva smiled at her daughter, lifting her free hand to brush the long fiery tresses of the girl's hair.
"How brand new?" Carmina narrowed her enchanting eyes at her brother.
"The goddess dropped him off just seconds ago. You just missed her." Eva teased.
"Oh he'll be rolling in the dirt with you in no time." Daniel's deep baritone answered, the Alpha leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest as he watched his young family. "Carmina, go supervise Uncle Kade with the ice cream for your cousins. Make sure he doesn't skimp on the chocolate sauce."
"On it!" Carmina hopped up and bounced out of the room.
Eva and Daniel chuckled as they watched their daughter skip away. She was going to make an excellent Alpha when it was her time. She possessed her parents' tenacity and sense of loyalty, not to mention she was as stubborn as a mule.
"How is my beautiful queen?" Daniel askedas he stepped into the room, shutting the door softly so not to startle their son.
"Sore." Eva admitted, leaned up to meet Daniel's lips half way. "But happy."
"Did you decide on a name?" Daniel finally asked.
*THE END.*
